Cretan Brotherhood Dance Group

The Cretan Brotherhood of Melbourne and Victoria is a community organisation founded in 1956 by a group of Greek migrants of Cretan descent. Their original purpose was to assist and create a support network for newly arrived compatriot migrants.Today the Cretan Brotherhood aims to foster, preserve and promote Hellenic and Cretan culture and traditions, be a hub for services, support, social activity and networking for people of Cretan heritage living in Victoria, make a contribution to the local Moreland community and the wider Greek community in Melbourne.

The Cretan Brotherhood Dance School teaches folk songs and dances from the Greek island of Crete and caters to all ages and levels starting from +3 children through to adults. The dance groups perform at festivals, functions and commemorative events throughout the year, showcasing traditional Cretan song, dance and costume.
